The purpose of the Agriculture Scholarship is to:

    ■ Recognize and assist outstanding young people who plan to pursue a degree in an

    Agricultural related field (Agriculture, Agri-business, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal

    Science, Veterinary Science, Agri-Engineering, Wildlife Management, Family and

    Consumer Science Field, or other related fields).

    ■ Promote leadership development within the agriculture sector.

    ■ Encourage students to value opportunities provided in the fields of agriculture.

Award:    A scholarship of at least $500 will be awarded to a Bulloch County High School graduate attending a Technical College or University.  

DEADLINE – April 10, 2017

HomeAdvisor’s green home improvement scholarship challenges students to come up with innovative ideas and thoughts towards green homes and energy-efficient improvements. Our goal is to hopefully help future students make changes and innovations in the green home improvement industry. This scholarship intends to serves as the first step towards those changes.

HomeAdvisor is challenging students to break new ground in green home improvement by offering a scholarship every year to one student. High school seniors accepted to a college or trade school or any student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at any accredited college, university or trade school in the United States are qualified to apply by submitting a 1,000 to 2,000 word essay. Students should e-mail their essays to scholarship@homeadvisor.com. Deadline is Dec. 15, 2017

The Diabetes Scholars Foundation’s college scholarship program is available to incoming freshmen with type 1 diabetes and who are US citizens or permanent residents seeking a higher education at an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school. This scholarship recognizes students who have high academic performance, are actively involved in the diabetes community, participate in community and/or extra-curricular activities and who have demonstrated that they are successfully managing the challenges of living with diabetes. Diabetes Scholars Foundation scholarships are not based on financial need. Deadline is April 15, 2017

Each year, more than 3,500 high school students from across the country participate in the VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest. The contest began in 1979 to recognize up-and-coming artists and encourage patriotism in youth.
 

Who is Eligible to Apply?

  • Any student in grades 9-12 who is enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States.
  • Maximum student age of 18 at time of local entry.
  • Student must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national.
  • Applicant does not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, but the student must attend school in the same state as the sponsoring VFW Auxiliary.

What is the Scholarship Amount?

  • The first-place winner from each state competes for national awards totaling $21,000.

What are the Scholarship Submission Requirements?

  • Art must be on paper or canvas. Water color, pencil, pastel, charcoal, tempera, crayon, acrylic, pen-and-ink or oil may be used.
  • Digital art and photography is NOT ACCEPTED.
  • Submit canvas entries on stretcher frames or canvas board; other entries must be matted on white.
  • Do not frame.
  • Art should be no smaller than 8” x 10” but no larger than 18” x 24,” not including the mat.

What are the Scholarship Deadlines?

  • March 31: Student Entry Deadline to Local VFW Auxiliary.*
  • April 10:  Local VFW Auxiliary and District Judging Complete.
  • April 15:  Local VFW Auxiliary and District Winners to Department (state) for Judging.*
  • May 5:  VFW Auxiliary Department (state) Winners to VFW Auxiliary National Headquarters.*

When: June 19th-22nd (day camp)
Where: Georgia Southern University
Cost: $30 Includes meals, snacks, and camp activities

 

Camp Activities Include:

  • Hear practicing health professionals discuss the challenges and rewards of providing health care today.
  • Talk with health professions students about their learning experiences.
  • Tour health care facilities and colleges.
  • Gain expert advice on schools which offer health professions programs.

Bulloch Retired Educators Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is again offering scholarships of $1,000. The distinguishing requirement for our scholarship is that any recipient must sincerely profess the intent to become a teacher and to pursue a career in education. Of course, potential for success in higher education will be evaluated, and financial need will be considered.
 

Attached is a copy of the application and all required attachments and documentation must be postmarked on or before Monday, March 20, 2017.
